What is mechanism of action
of ARTHICARE®?
Glucosamine Sulphate in ARTHICARE® acts by stimulating the molecules known as glycosamineoglycans (GAGs), key structural components of cartilage.
Chondroitin sulfate in ARTHICARE® is a major constituent of cartilage, providing structure, holding water and nutrients, and allowing other molecules to move through cartilage-an important property, as there is no blood supply to cartilage.

It can be given alone or in combination with analgesics & anti-inflammatory drugs.

What are side effects?
No major side effect are associated with Glucosamine Sulphate, Chondroitin Sulphate in therapeutic doses. Side effects are rare and mild, mostly related to G.I tract such as nausea, epigastric discomforts etc. Urticaria and pruritus has also been reported rarely.

What are the contraindications?
There is no controlled data available for the use of Glucosamine Sulphate & Chondroitin Sulphate during pregnancy.

No adverse drug interactions have been observed in clinical trials and safety studies.
